Art
Art
PCC’s art department provides studio art experiences in ceramics, painting, drawing, and photography as well as theoretical education in basic art theory, history, and critical thinking. All coursework is consistent with the first two years of a baccalaureate program in studio arts. The art department provides art education opportunities in the form of courses and workshops designed to meet specific educational and community needs. These are available to the transfer student, the non-traditional student, or the community artists. Student art is displayed annually in The Delmar-Riney Art Gallery.
Type of Degree:
Creative Arts Society
Students are provided the opportunity to participate in the Creative Arts Society (CAS), the art club on campus at PCC. The club champions diversity and inclusion, creativity, collaboration, and community outreach through the processes of making art and participating in scholarly discussion. CAS gives students the opportunity to travel to art exhibitions, visit museums, and attend workshops. Students do not have to be declared art majors to be members.
