Collegiate Farm Bureau
Collegiate Farm Bureau provides students the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills as future agriculture leaders through cooperative experiences with the county, state, and national Farm Bureau organization. Collegiate Farm Bureau helps students build networks with other student leaders, connect with others to discuss issues impacting agriculture, promote agriculture as an industry, and gain experiences with leaders and mentors in the agricultural industry.
This chapter meets monthly. Funding for this club comes from student sponsorship of local Farm Bureau chapters. The remainder of the budget comes from fundraising by selling PCC “Eat Beef” t-shirts and hoodies.
Students participate in local functions like the annual FB county banquet, round table listening meetings and classroom teaching activities. They share state networking and industry experiences with other CFB clubs across Kansas. The highlight of the year is attending the Young Farmers & Ranchers State Conference and participating in the Discussion Meet and Quiz Bowl contests. Students also attend a Legislator’s Day and interact with our elected officials. Participation in the National FB Convention varies year to year dependent upon location.
