English and Literature
Degrees in English help you become a better communicator, a stronger writer, a well-rounded reader, and a critical thinker who’s able to understand, evaluate, innovate, and lead. As technology and communication in a digital landscape continue to advance, each of these skills is invaluable in the real world.
Beyond Comp. I and II, which are required for many degrees, the PCC English Department offers Creative Writing, Introduction to Literature, American Literature, World Literature, and Young Adult Literature. The department also prepares students in technical degrees for their transition to work with a workplace writing course. Online courses are available, as well, for added flexibility.
English class sizes are small enough for meaningful discussion and personal attention, and instructors are accessible to students outside of class.
